How to Become the New Me—Now

Do you struggles with a low self esteem? 

Do people takes advantage of you? or Do you feel there is a part in your life right now that you seriously need to change? 

You have come to the right place! I can create any habit at will—in 30 days! 

What about you? Have you ever try to make a change once in your life? 


What was the change all about? Does it involve being an early riser? Trying to cut down some calories and weight? or, Is it an attempt to improve your skills? health? relationship? and finance?


How far did it go? Were you able to make it past the initial (first 15 days)?

Well... 

However your answer is, I guess you deserved a handshake for trying for a change!

You may often get stuck in cycles of temporarily upgrading some part of your life, only to watch that area decline when you stop giving it as much attention. People especially do this with their finances and their health. When the pressure to take action is strong enough, they'll make some improvements, but once the immediacy subsides, they return to old habits –and the old results.

Partly, this is a framing issue...

If you really want to upgrade a certain area of your life and have the upgrade stick, it helps to frame your efforts as creating permanent changes. Adopt the mindset that you can never go back to the old way of doing things. 

Do your best to mentally and emotionally accept that the old path must permanently end, and you can never return to it again.

To succeed on this decision here are some steps you need to follow, and you will become a different person; a new born in 30 days! 


1. Wake up 30 minutes early every morning

Get up 30 minutes earlier than usual so you don’t have to rush around like a mad man. 

That 30 minutes will help you avoid speeding tickets, tardiness and other unnecessary headaches.

You can see or do something a million times, but you can only see or do it for the first time once. As a result, first time experiences often leave reflective marks in our minds for the rest of our lives. 

Make an effort to wake up 30 minutes earlier every day for the next 30 days. It can be a whole new activity or just a small experience to you, depending on how you where brought up. 

Once you get the ball rolling, this new experiences will open doors to life changing opportunities for you.

Give it a legitimate try for 30 days straight and see how it impacts your life. 


2. Start small

Do not choose 7 - 20 bad habits that you feel you should work on. No.. Start small. 

Ditch 3 of your bad habits for the next 30 days at first—just three (if not one).

Do you eat too much fast food? Do you play too many video games? Do you argue with your siblings? You know some of your bad habits. Pick 3 and quit doing them for the next 30 days. Period.

If you can even choose one and work on it, you will realize the power of focus.

Let's say, you made "health improvement" or "body building" as your choice - for example. 

Then, what you should do next, is: Exercise for 30 minutes every day for 30 days! Your health is your life. Don’t let it go. Eat right, exercise and get an annual physical check-up.

3. Build A Strategy

Now that you have picked the 3 bad habits that you will focused on, let's build your strategy... It’s well known that you only need 30 days to establish a new habit. The hardest part is starting...

Now define one long-term goal and work on it for an hour every day for the next 30 days. Break your goal down into bite-sized pieces and focus on achieving each one piece at a time. 

It is all about taking baby steps, and taking the first step is often the hardest. 

Spend an hour every day for the next 30 days working toward something you’ve always wanted to accomplish. Take a small dream and make it a reality.

* Write down how you plan to change your life in the next 30 days.

* Write down how you plan to let people see you. 

* Write down anybody's name you feel might be of great assistance to the success of the new you—because, no one succeeds alone. 

* Write down the group of people you need to meet as rarely as you can. This will lead us to the next step...


4. Avoid distractions

(a). Watch less TV: Entertain yourself with real-world experiences. Great memories are the product of interesting life experiences. So turn off the television (or the computer if that’s how you watch your TV programs) and get outdoors. 

Interact with the world, appreciate nature, take notice of the simple pleasures life has to offer, and just watch as life unfolds in front of you.

(b). Cut away negative relationships: Keep people in your life who truly love you, motivate you, encourage you, enhance you, and make you happy. If you know people who do none of these things, let them go and make room for new positive relationships. 

Major changes in how you see the world interact with others can be difficult for some people to accept. It is possible that some people who knew you before won't like who you have become. You may lose some friends by changing your life. Rest assured, though, that you will gain new ones, too.

Over the next 30 days, if relevant to your situation, gradually let go of one person in your life who has been continuously hurting you and holding you back.


5. Read a good book every day

To train your mental health, you must read at least one chapter of a good book every day.

With the Web’s endless stream of informative, easy-to-skim textual snippets and collaborative written works, people are spending more and more time reading online. Nevertheless, the Web cannot replace the authoritative wisdom from certain classic books that have delivered (or will deliver) profound ideas around the globe for generations. 

Books open doors, in your mind and in your life. Read an online book list and find a good book to grab at the library today. Then spend the next 30 days reading at least one chapter a day until you reach the end.

Every morning, watch or read something that inspires you

Sometimes all you need is a little pep talk. For the next 30 days, before you eat breakfast, or leave the house, watch a motivational video or read something (quotation, blog post, short story, etc.) that inspires you.


6. Improve on it everyday

For Anything to Be Great it has to Be a Daily Affair.

By now, You have learned to wake up early. You have picked one or two habits that you will be working on for the next 30 days. You believe you will succeed because you have a strategic plan in place. You are willing to avoid distractions like watching less TV and cutting away negative relationships. 

You are now reading good books that will help to facilitate your growth in your self-improvement goal. Weldon.

Now.. that is a good achievement. I can see the new you - a few steps away.

You will need next to focus on Consistency

This next step is the more important step; to make the new habit a part of you. For example, now, if I'm eating my rice with fork and a knife, I don't remember where the spoon is anymore. It has become—permanent.


To make the new you permanent, here are some rules you must follow:

(i). Kill it off!!

You might have a temporary upgrade phase and a long-term maintenance phase for certain changes, but the maintenance phase can't be the same as the pre-upgrade phase if you want to lock in some permanent gains. 

Whatever you're doing now that isn't getting you the results you want – that particular collection of habits – has to die off and never see the light of day again.

For instance, if you're considering a dietary change to improve your health, frame it as a permanent change. This framing makes it clear that you can never go back to the way you're eating now. If you do, you'll undo any results you gain. 

Look at your current eating habits and know you must leave them in the past and that they can never be part of your future.


(ii). Focus on the good outcome...

That's a hard realization to accept sometimes. The notion of making a permanent change may seem daunting enough, but you also have to accept that this means the absolute end of your current practices.

* If you want to upgrade your health, your current health practices must end forever. 

* If you want to upgrade your finances, your current financial practices must end forever.

* If you want to upgrade your social life, your current social practices must end forever. 

To usher in the new and make it stick, you must be willing to accept the death of the old.


(iii). Make it permanent!

Maintain a checklist, and keep it regular. 

Over-feeding myself is dead to me—so is waking up late. It was part of my past, but I don't expect to ever have it be part of my life again. 

When I stop eating too much, because it was making me lazy (including the habit of wasting food) back in 2018, I began with a 30-day experiment, but I also leaned into the expectation that if those 30 days went well, there would be no going back. That helped the change stick.

Even if you frame something as a permanent change, you still retain the option to undo or modify that change later on. You're still free to make fresh choices. But if you frame it as permanent from the beginning, it can help you invest more deeply in making the change stick. 

You can still begin with a 30-day challenge mindset to get started, while also using those 30 days to say goodbye to your old habits.

If you quit smoking, it would be best if you never ever touch a cigarette again in your entire life.

The love affair with the old addiction has to die for a new life – and a new identity – to emerge.

There's a certain sadness when we do this. I suggest that you accept the sadness and let yourself feel it. Go ahead and grieve if you feel some genuine loss. Let those feelings flow through you as you say goodbye to the old.


(iv). Be grateful..

Say "thank you" to the old habits as well. Take stock of what you learned and how the old experiences helped you mature. Consider what you discovered about your character. 

At the very least, you may have learned to feel some compassion for those dealing with similar challenges. Being able to feel gratitude (instead of resentment) for the old life can make it easier to flow into permanent changes.

Framing your lifestyle and habit changes as permanent can help you bypass the yoyo phase, so you can make a change stick once you've gone through the effort to transition.

As you make the change, remember that a key part of this is to say a real goodbye to the old path and then to require that henceforth the old path may exist only in your memories.
